How does yes or no tarot work?

  1. Write a clear questionFocus on one topic and choose a question that can be answered with yes or no, such as “Should I have that conversation this week?”
  2. Draw one cardOne card is drawn at random from the 78-card deck. If you include reversed cards, it can come upright or reversed.
  3. Read the answer and the meaningYou see the card’s traditional yes, no or maybe and its short meaning. For more, open the card’s meaning page.

02

Which cards say yes and which say no?

The pairing used on Taroti follows one common tradition; other sources may read some cards differently. A reversed card changes the answer: a yes card reversed says no, a no card reversed says maybe.

Does yes or no tarot give a definite answer?

No. The card is drawn at random and carries a traditional, symbolic meaning. See the result not as a prediction but as a hint to look at your question from another angle. Make your decisions with your own judgement.

Can I ask the same question again?

You can, but every draw is independent and a different card may come up. Many people prefer to ask once and reflect on the first answer.

What does maybe mean?

Maybe cards suggest that the situation is not clear yet or that the outcome depends on the steps you take. It can help to come back to the question after a while.

Which questions is it not suitable for?
